Composer Dario Marianelli (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Darkest Hour, V for Vendetta, Anna Karenina, Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings) is reuniting with director Asif Kapadia on the new documentary Federer: Twelve Final Days. The film is directed by Kapadia (Amy, Senna) & Joe Sabia and captures the final chapter in Roger Federer’s legendary tennis career. The movie, which was originally a home video never intended for public viewing, features interviews from his rivals and friends, inclduing Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray, among others. Kapadia is also producing the project with George Chignell (Citizen K, Listen to Me Marlon). Marianelli has previously collaborated with the Kapadia on the narrative features, The Warrior, The Return, Far North and Ali and Nino. Federer: Twelve Final Days will be released in select theaters on June 13 before premiering June 20 on Prime Video.
Also coming up for Marianelli is LAIKA’s animated feature Wildwood.
