Anna Drubich (Barbarian, Fear Street Part 3: 1666, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Werewolves Within) has composed the original score for the upcoming Australian horror thriller Sting. The film is written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner (Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, Nektrotonic) and stars Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell, Noni Hazelhurst, Robyn Nevin, Danny Kim, Silvia Colloca and Jermaine Fowler. The movie follows a 12-year-old girl who raises an unnervingly talented spider in secret and must fight for her family’s survival when the creature rapidly transforms into a giant, flesh-eating monster. Jamie Hilton (Breath, Devil’s Peak), Michael Pontin (OtherLife, June Again) and Chris Brown (Daybreakers, The Railway Man) are producing the See Pictures and Pictures in Paradise production. Sting will be released in U.S. theaters on April 12 by Well Go USA Entertainment before coming out in Australia this May.
Drubich’s other recent projects include Michael Lockshin’s fantasy drama The Master and Margarita, which opened in Russian theaters last month and Shannon Triplett’s Desert Road, which will premiere next month at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival. She also has Len Wiseman’s John Wick spin-off Ballerina (co-scored with Marco Beltrami) coming up.
