Bear McCreary Scoring Starz’s ‘The Serpent Queen’

Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the MonstersOutlander10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) is the composer of the new Starz limited series The Serpent Queen. The show is developed by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road, A Cure for Wellness) based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda and stars Samantha Morton, Amrita Acharia, Enzo Cilenti, Barry Atsma, Danny Kirrane, Nicholas Burns, Sennia Nanua, Beth Goddard, Antonia Clarke, George Jaques, Liv Hill, Charles Dance, Ludivine Sagnier, Colm Meaney, Kiruna Stamell, Alex Heath and Rupert Everett. The historical drama centers on the nefarious Catherine de Medici, who, against all odds, became one of the most powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history. Haythe is also executive producing the Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment production with Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, I Am Legend) and Erwin Stoff (Edge of Tomorrow, Constantine), as well as Stacie Passon (Little Birds) who also directed multiples episodes. The Serpent Queen will premiere this coming Sunday, September 11 on Starz.

McCreary’s recent projects also include Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, as well as new seasons of Starz’s Outlander, AMC’s The Walking Dead and Apple TV+’s See.
