Italian tenor and singer/songwriter Matteo Bocelli (and son of opera star Andrea Bocelli) has recorded an original song for the sci-fi romance Three Thousand Years of Longing. The track written by the film’s composer Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Deadpool, Alita: Battle Angel), director George Miller & co-writer Augusta Gore is expected to be featured during the movie’s end titles sequence. Bocelli also stars in the film as Prince Mustafa. Holkenborg has recorded his score at the Simon Leadley Scoring Stage at Trackdown Studios in Sydney, where he previously recorded his music for Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Three Thousand Years of Longing co-written and directed by Miller and starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton will premiere this month at the 2022 Cannes Festival and is set to be released in select theaters on August 31 by United Artists before expanding nationwide the following week.
